Bored of tweeting.. Facebooking .. chatting ?

I've seen most of the people when log on to net visit Facebook or twitter,chat with their friends,go to youtube see some videos, or listen to songs.

Apart from that they dont use their internet.
Internet isnt the same as it used to be few years ago.. Now its much more than social networking or sharing files.

1. 9gag.com

This website is like the bank of funny posts,filled with rage comics,parody posts,and lots of funny stuff thats surely gonna make you laugh.Moreover you can log in to it through facebook,comment on posts or even create your own posts.
Its amusing.. one more thing.
One 9gag the posts are funny but the comments on the posts are funnier...

2. Omegle
I remember mom used to tell me not to talk to strangers.But when i grew upi realized that  if i dont talk to strangers i wouldn't socialize or have friends.Maybe the creator of Omegle thought the same.
Omegle allows u to chat with strangers across the world.
It also searches for users with similar activities or likes according to your facebook account.

3.SoundCloud

This site is one of the best music sharing site.It allows to listen to songs,download them for free or buy them,Users can upload their own remixes of existing songs.. Soundcloud hosts songs of almost all genres ranging from rock to trance.

4.Flickr 

 Allows to upload photos and share.Initially its a free version but later as you cross 200 images you have to upgrade to pro for better features.
Its a great site to meet other photographer around the world.Interact with them.Moreover you can set liscene to you photos, depending on your choice you can set attributes whether to allow downloading of photos or not.
You can sign into Flickr using your Facebook or Yahoo mail.

Safely browsing the Internet

Hello, This post is about safely browsing the Internet.
We all use the internet for searching some info, social networking , emails ,games ,business ,banking and lot  more stuff.Most of these require a valid email id and sometimes you need to enter your personal details like name,address,number,passwords etc.So make sure you are smart when it comes to browsing and save your  info like email/password from getting into wrong hands.


1st step of Secure Browsing :
See where you are and what you enter.
Always ensure you enter your details/password/email at a genuine site.
For example : suppose you want to log into Facebook then make sure you are on the Facebook login page and not some other website with similar name or similar color/layout.
There have been cases earlier of people entering details on duplicate(fake) websites and then losing data.

2nd step : Whenever logging into your email accounts/ social networking site ensure the " HTTPS " in the address bar of the browser.
Example:
https://signup.live.com , https://www.facebook.com , https://mail.google.com

Sometimes you can see the lock also indicating its a secured process.You'll see the lock along with the HTTPS  before the web address if you are using browsers like Internet explorer,Firefox,Google Chrome for secure transactions like signing into accounts or online banking.
If you are not using https then your account is vunerable to threats from virus/hacker.
Usual browsing like Googling or downloading stuff wont require HTTPS.


Note: Using HTTPS may slow the signing in process for a while.


3rd Step:


Never save the password on Public computer or cybercafe.
Most of the web browsers now offer to save email id and password when you login.
So DO NOT SAVE THE PASSWORD or Email ID !!!


Browser will pop up a message asking whether you want to save the password,so please select " No " or other negative option given.
Look at the image you'll understand what i mean to say.

Finally, Make sure you have a updated Antivirus,a good OS and proper internet connectivity for efficient surfing.

Photo Editing Softwares

We all love commercial Photo editor softwares and its effects but most of us would hardly “ buy “ it just to add some simple effects to the pictures.
There are some who might think of cracking the commercial software  to use it for extended period after the trial version expires.
But why do a bad deed  of using the cracked version and all that stuff ??

So if you wanna add simple effects to enhance the pics you shot with your digital camera or cell phone then you should try Picasa Photo editor and PhotoScape Editor.
Both the softwares are free, offer variety of editing effects and easy to use.

Picasa is a popular photo editing software by Google.

It works fine on Windows XP,Vista and 7.
Well I’d divide the function of Picasa in two ways:
First, It has a Photo viewer which allows to view photos on your PC or external storage.Its smooth, with a transparent layout.
The viewer offers many features like rotating,zooming,viewing the images in slide show etc. but the most important one is Edit in Picasa.
When you click on that option, the picture opens in Picasa editor.

Second function of Picasa is Editor,so when you open any image in the Picasa editor,you’ll see the window as below (ofcourse the image will differ)

In the editor window, the image opens with different editing options on the left.
There are 3 tabs in that : Basic Fixes, Tuning and Effects.
You can select the options and edit your picture. After editing you need to apply changes and save the picture.

As you see below the picture,there are many other buttons/options such as Email, Printing,Geo Tagging, blogging, collage etc.
You can use those features provided you have a good internet on you pc and required hardware like printer etc.
In the same area there are options to view properties of the picture, geo tag info and tagging options.

Picasa also offers to create a Slideshow of selected images with music in background, setting images as Screen saver,posting them to Picasa Online Album etc.

This is a wonderful photo editing software.It also free and offers various photo editing features.
