Tech Tiger.....: Photo Editing Softwares

We all love commercial Photo editor softwares and its effects but most of us would hardly “ buy “ it just to add some simple effects to the pictures.
There are some who might think of cracking the commercial software to use it for extended period after the trial version expires.
But why do a bad deed of using the cracked version and all that stuff ??

So if you wanna add simple effects to enhance the pics you shot with your digital camera or cell phone then you should try Picasa Photo editor and PhotoScape Editor.
Both the softwares are free, offer variety of editing effects and easy to use.

Picasa is a popular photo editing software by Google.

It works fine on Windows XP,Vista and 7.
Well I’d divide the function of Picasa in two ways:
First, It has a Photo viewer which allows to view photos on your PC or external storage.Its smooth, with a transparent layout.
The viewer offers many features like rotating,zooming,viewing the images in slide show etc. but the most important one is Edit in Picasa.
When you click on that option, the picture opens in Picasa editor.

Second function of Picasa is Editor,so when you open any image in the Picasa editor,you’ll see the window as below (ofcourse the image will differ)

In the editor window, the image opens with different editing options on the left.
There are 3 tabs in that : Basic Fixes, Tuning and Effects.
You can select the options and edit your picture. After editing you need to apply changes and save the picture.

As you see below the picture,there are many other buttons/options such as Email, Printing,Geo Tagging, blogging, collage etc.
You can use those features provided you have a good internet on you pc and required hardware like printer etc.
In the same area there are options to view properties of the picture, geo tag info and tagging options.

Picasa also offers to create a Slideshow of selected images with music in background, setting images as Screen saver,posting them to Picasa Online Album etc.

PhotoScape Editor :

This is a wonderful photo editing software.It also free and offers various photo editing features.

It has 2 editors, one to edit a single picture at a time and another is a Batch editor to edit many pics at same time with similar effect.
Other features are :

Creating the GIF image ( animated effect )

Printing and finalizing the print out copy.

Splitting the image.
